It was as if they were arguing endlessly about something that they inherently agreed upon. Things go like that sometimes, because it is not always so clear where things fit together and where they fall apart.

The work of Elaine W. Ho and the work of Nina Schuiki can both be described as site-conditioned, though the common point of departure journeys into highly disparate artistic vocabularies. Taking this as the impetus for their collaboration at 36|Projectcell, light and voice become the subjects within the bare minimum of an art space, forming a body to contain the misplaced dynamics of a conversation. Perhaps they do not speak the same language at all, but by virtue of the happenstance of the third, subject-viewer, site re-enters in a critical motion by which a conversation suddenly makes sense again.

Der Innenraum wird als begrenztes Feld der Interaktion unterschiedlicher Kanäle - Licht und Ton - genutzt.

Die Möglichkeit der Verortung der kommunizierenden Systeme bietet dem Rezipienten einen – zumeist dem Zufall geschuldeten – Zugang zu den erweiterten Zusammenhängen, die für die interagierenden Medien nicht zu dechiffrieren sind.
Der spezifische Austausch der Medien bzw. der Verlauf und die Steuerung ihrer Kommunikation kann dementsprechend analog zum Phänomen eines stetig scheiternden Informationsaustauschs gelesen werden:
Interpretiert die Rezipientin die differenten Sprechweisen der Ton- und Lichtereignisse als kommunikativen Prozess, kann bei arguing endlessly about something inherently agreed upon inhaltliche Übereinstimmung beobachtbar werden.
So wird hier – beinahe beiläufig – auch die Feststellung des autopoietischen Charakters von Kommunikation nachvollzogen, also dass Kommunikation in erster Linie Folgekommunikation generieren soll.
